A Levine’s Tube is a flexible gastrostomy tube with a single-lumen, that has a rounded and smooth tip and is passed through the nose and into the stomach for a short-term indication, such as gastric decompression, drainage of fluid or gas, or gastric sampling and assessment, for instance. It has lateral holes in the tip for effective drainage while trying to alleviate discomfort during the assessment. Unlike Ryle’s tube, it is not made with multiple markings or more than one lumen. It is designed to help with uncomplicated gastric aspiration procedures. It is made of medical-grade PVC or rubber material and is ideal for emergency care, surgical wards, and diagnostic settings for safe and reliable gastric management.
