Vascular Access
Vascular Access refers to the medical procedure and devices used to gain entry into a patient’s bloodstream through a vein or artery. It provides a direct pathway for administering fluids, medications, blood products, or for collecting blood samples. Vascular access can be short-term (like an intravenous cannula used for a few hours or days) or long-term (such as central venous catheters, dialysis catheters, or ports used for weeks to months).
